We admit it - we haven't offered much in the way of vintage ladies timepieces these past few years. We're going to work on changing that this coming year - if for no other reason that horologically-inclined women seem to be coming out of the woodwork!
It'll be a challenge, however, as the vast majority of ladies mechanical timepieces are either incredibly petite, overly precious, or both. While these might suit some, we're finding more and more that many ladies prefer traditional styling and sizing to the supremely delicate and ornate timepieces originally allocated for the fairer sex. While there are some contemporary brands producing more masculine timepieces in smaller sizes for ladies today, the vast majority of women's watches are purely fashion accessories, and aren't desirable for quality of mechanical components or design alike.
The watch we're presenting here is something else entirely. A simple diver from the 1960s or 70s, this Lucerne branded manual-winder isn't high horology, but is a straightforward tool watch design sized down for a smaller wrist. At 30mm, it wears larger than a ladies Datejust, and with a crisp gloss black dial with large luminous plots, rotating outer bezel, asymmetrical date aperature and a "Broad Arrow" hour hand, it has all the makings of a delightful and collectable vintage diver, regardless of gender intention!
Steel case is approximately 30mm (excluding the crown).
Overall Condition: Case is in excellent condition over all, showing only minimal signs of wear from age and light use. Original gloss black dial is in outstanding condition with no noteworthy blemishes. Original luminous hands are in excellent condition. Original case back and unsigned crown.
Includes 16mm black leather strap with steel buckle.
