A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin Pink Gold

A. Lange & Söhne Saxonia Thin Pink Gold

A. Lange & Söhne.

Few contemporary watch brands have created a complete collection as universally brilliant as the storied manufacture from Saxony. So brilliant, we feel, that if we were blindfolded, spun around, and told to point in any direction in one of their boutiques, we are confident we would end up pointing towards something we would happily, happily own.

Whether one of their high complications or one of their svelte time-only models, any Lange timepiece has a certain heft, poise, and overall feel that is sadly absent from so many of the other haute horology brands on the market today. With roots dating back to 1845, A. Lange & Söhne spent the post-World War II and Cold War years shuttered, only to have new life breathed back into them (by the descendants of its founder!) in the early 1990s, re-emerging on the market as the world's first truly high-end German manufacture for the modern age.

Today, Lange's timepieces are counted amongst the Swiss greats by collectors, enthusiasts, and journalists worldwide, and continually push the envelope for innovative developments in precise timekeeping, eye-watering complications and teutonic design. Furthermore, we have found the people behind the brand to be amongst the most genuine and authentic in the business, favoring straightforward communication and honest interaction with their clients and press to the hyperbole and marketing spin that dominates the high end of the industry.  Must be the whole German thing.

The Saxonia line is perhaps the purest expression of their masterful skill, with a simplistic case design and clean lines - I think we can all agree that many time only high-end dress pieces are botched. and cased in rich 18K pink gold with a 40mm diameter width and thickness of only 5.9mm, the Saxonia Thin may just be the perfect contemporary dress watch.

Technically speaking, the Saxonia Thin draws its power from the entirely in-house Calibre L093.1, a beating at 21600bph with a power reserve of over 72 hours. As anyone who owns one will tell you, backside of a Lange is just as beautiful as the front!

This particular example is in brand-new, unworn condition, and is part of the current Saxonia collection, viewable on their website HERE. It comes complete with its original box, papers, and genuine leather strap, and is still under warranty. If you're looking for your chance to enter the wonderful world of Lange (for considerably under retail), now is your chance!
