Why We Love It
Solid Gold Tank style watches are elegant.
But they can also be so much more. This solid 18k gold dress piece by A.L. Emeraude circa the 1920s features a Francois Borgel case with dignified hand engravings. The dial is deeply patinated, showing all of its years of wear and love, further punctuated by blued steel hands. Further suggesting its history, the gold caseback is engraved "Paul W. Matthews April 9th 1926 From Mother".
Whether worn with a suit, a sweater, or a t-shirt on the weekend, this is distinctive watch for a collector with distinctive taste.
18k Yellow Gold Tank case is approximately 23mm x 29mm (excluding the crown). Unsigned manually-winding movement. Circa 1920s.
Overall Condition: The case is in excellent condition overall showing normal wear consistent with age and use, and hand engraved case sides. Non luminous white dial shows heavy patination with printed Arabic numerals, and stylized blued steel handset. Unsigned crown. Caseback shows engraving.
Includes brown leather strap with gold buckle.
