Why We Love It
Not very often does virtually unworn vintage Patek Philippe show up at our doorstep. But when it does, we welcome it with open arms...
Dating to 1961, this Reference 3416 Calatrava is constructed from solid 18k yellow gold. Featuring a flawless silver satin dial bearing the signature of the Italian retailer Somazzi, this stunning piece belies its meager 33mm with the inclusion of its integrated woven bracelet - made by Gay Freres. Ostensibly purchased originally by a member of the Italian Royal Family as an engagement gift, this is an outstanding timepiece that has gone virtually unworn for all of its years.
We hope you'll change that.
Founded in 1839, Patek Philippe is one of the oldest watch manufacturers in the world with an uninterrupted watchmaking history. Few luxury brands in the world carry the gravitas of their name, and for good reason. The firm's commitment to excellence in horological manufacture is unflinching, and their track record of innovation in design without peer. They continue to lead the industry, and even their fiercest competitors have nothing but the utmost respect for the company.
Vintage Patek Philippe is for many the ultimate goal of timepiece collecting, and for a certain type, the only vintage timepieces they collect. Whichever way you look at it, there is no questioning the elegance of design, superlative manufacture of their movements, and that finding these characteristics on a vintage piece that also tells a story is some next level shit.
18k Yellow Gold case is approximately 33mm (excluding the crown). Patek Philippe Calibre 23-200 manually-winding movement. Circa 1961.
Overall Condition: The case is in near mint condition overall showing little to no signs of wear. Non-luminous satin silver dial is in near mint condition with applied gold indices and gold handset. Signed crown.
