Why We Love it

Why we love it

It would be a serious challenge to name a wristwatch more versatile than a stainless steel Omega Seamaster.

It's a timepiece that can be easily dressed up or down, features a rock-solid movement, and gives all the information a user could ever want with just a quick glance at the wrist.

The Omega Seamaster line is about as diverse as one could imagine, with petite, ultra-thin gold dress pieces on one end of the spectrum, and giant steel monocoque professional divers on the other. It is considered a staple of Omega's casual and dress timepiece line up.

This particular example features a beautiful non-luminous silver sunburst dial, dauphine hands and steel indices. Dating from the early 1970s, this Reference 166.010 SP also features a robust and accurate chronometer-rated movement with date function. Like we said, everything you need.

Looking for a wonderful "do-anything and take-everywhere" addition to a vintage collection?

Look no further, we've got you covered.

The Story

Since the Seamaster’s launch in 1948, it has been the vibrant, beating heart of Omega's collection. The key to its longevity, in part, lies in its adaptability. It comes in dive watch models, which were worn by professional divers (and James Bond), or dress models favored by the likes of Mad Men’s Don Draper.

In many ways, the Seamaster can be seen as Omega's counterpart to Rolex’s Datejust. They have many similarities: a waterproof case, in steel or gold, with slim proportions. However, what gives the Seamaster an edge over the Datejust is its affordability.

Whether steel and sporty or gold and glimmering, there’s truly a Seamaster for every taste, every budget, and every wrist.
