Why We Love It
Well, here's something you don't see every day!
Yep, its a watch. For your waist.
This lovely pre-war Cyma is fitted into a solid sterling silver case with a machine turned finish. Press the spring-loaded button on the bottom edge, and a carriage swings out, housing the timepiece mechanism. Its silvered dial features luminous Arabic numerals and blued steel hands have patinated beautifully.
While its original purpose was to be fitted as a belt buckle for gentlemanly timekeeping while on the golf course, we wouldn't rule out other more creative uses. For example, you could place this next to your bed, or on your desk. You could use it as a pocket watch, or even have a custom leather cuff strap made to wear it on your wrist!
There's no doubt in our mind that this lovely horological curiosity will be an instant favorite!
Sterling silver case is approximately 52mm x 29mm (excluding the crown). Manually winding movement. Circa 1920s-1930s.
Overall Condition: The machine turned case is in great condition overall showing light signs of wear from age and use. Luminous silver tone dial is in great condition with patinated radium indices. Luminous blued steel handset shows matching patina. Unsigned crown.
Mechanical accuracy not guaranteed. Watch is sold as-is.
