Hamilton Intra-Matic

Hamilton Intra-Matic

Why We Love It

The Hamilton Intra-Matic: more than meets the eye!

This lovely Hamilton is the perfect piece for the minimalist who appreciates subtle, even hidden details. At first glance, it features a beautiful satin silver quadrant dial, a framed date window, and steel hands. But with closer inspection it can be seen that the simple looking stick indices are in actuality engraved - in relief!

The case is a thin, solid stainless steel snap back case with short lugs that looks great on the wrist, but houses a Calibre 92 micro-rotor movement with 30 jewels, an incredibly impressive mechanical unit for a piece of this age, size and price point.

This Hamilton is a great piece for everyday wear that can easily transition from work wear to casual wear, and has some beautiful hidden details that make it a true gem for the discerning collector. All for under $1K!

The Story

Hamilton is an inseparable strand of the tapestry of American horological history.

The brand is perhaps best known to modern collectors for their historically significant tool watches: robust field watches issued to the U.S. military from the Vietnam War to the 1980s, bulky precision chronographs, or divers in EPSA SuperCompressor cases.

But during the Golden Age of American watchmaking, Hamilton was master of all trades, from railroad timers to dress watches fit for kings. Their catalogs from the 1930s and 1940s were filled with elegant and innovative watches that have all but faded to obscurity, with this Intra-matic being just one example of Hamilton's broad history in watch making.
