Heuer Monaco 1133G

Heuer Monaco 1133G

The Heuer Monaco may very well be the single most recognizable motorsports chronograph in history.  With its unmistakable square-case shape, large proportions, and memorable tie to the original King Of Cool, the Monaco is the epitome' of iconic, and on the wish list of every car nut on the planet.

Launched in 1969, the original Monaco was powered by the legendary Calibre 11 automatic chronograph movement, the first of its kind.  Popular with racers and enthusiasts alike from its launch, the watch reached mythical status on the wrist of every guy's secret man-crush, Steve McQueen, who selected it as part of the attire of his character Michael Delaney in the 1972 racing film, Le Mans.  (Side Note: if you haven't seen this film, make it your number one priority in life!).  The connection between Heuer and McQueen was forever cemented, and the Monaco lives on today in a modernized form (See HERE).

But for those who want "the real deal", look no further.  Available here is a reference 1133 "G" (Grey Dial), and dates back to the early 1970s.  Grey dial versions are even less common than the better-known Blue examples, and arguably better looking.  This particular example is in tremendous original condition, and has just received a top to bottom mechanical overhaul.  Prices on early automatic, two-register Monacos have been holding in the $10k-$15K range for a number of years, but we scored this beauty for a song, and are passing the value on to its next fortunate owner.

This is a no-excuses model that is ready to wear and enjoy, so come and get it!

Steel Case is approximately 39mm (excluding the crown). Heuer Reference 1133G.  Movement is Heuer Calibre 11.

Overall condition: The case is in excellent condition over all with only light wear marks visible.  Original grey dial is in excellent condition with light patina on some of the markers.  Fluted pushers are crisp and start and reset chronograph function perfectly.

Includes one grey leather strap and two 22mm Crown and Buckle premium nylon straps.
