Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso 1931 "King Rama IX of Thailand" Limited Edition

Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso 1931 "King Rama IX of Thailand" Limited Edition

This Jaeger-Le Coultre 1931 Day/Night Reverso is one of only 39 made to celebrate Thailand's King Rama IX. The number is significant for two reasons. Firstly, the number three signifies the three colors on the flag of Thailand; secondly, nine is for Bhumibol the Great, the ninth King (or "rama") of the Chakri dynasty of Thailand, who died in 2016 after reigning for 70 years.

The remarkable deep yellow color on the dial is unlike any previous edition, symbolizing "dawn" while also paying tribute to King Rama IX with his royal color.

The reverse side displays a lovely engraving of Wat Arun, which is temple of the dawn. A ruin which harkens back to the 1700s, it is known particularly for its bright colors. It is considered unique among the many temples and ruins of Thailand.

The day/night indicator is framed by a railway minute track and art deco style markers, tying back to the JLC Reverso tradition. The emblematic stripes engraved at the top and bottom of the case give way to lovely short lugs that makes the watch fit close to the wrist.

Powered by the JLC Calibre 967B, it features a 42 hour power reserve for convenience and reliability.

This is a rare opportunity to grab a sold out, very limited edition Reverso hardly seen in the U.S. Only two were ever handled by the NYC boutique. We believe that this rare watch will only gain value with time, so don't delay if you're thinking about acquiring a outstanding representative of the best Reversos JLC has put forth yet!
