Muyshondt Maus UV Electric Torch

Muyshondt Maus UV Electric Torch

An ultraviolet torch is a critical tool for examining the luminescent materials on a vintage timepiece.

Essential for determining whether or not luminous material has been replaced or refinished, evaluating the types of lume used, and inspecting degradation and layering on a dial, the UV torch is one of the most important tools for vintage watch collecting. For contemporary watches with modern luminous materials, a UV torch can also be used to 'charge' these luminous elements and give them that ever-so-cool glow!

But not all UV lights are created equal. Low quality lamps offer misleading results, and single-intensity settings don't allow for detailed inspection. So the tool the Analog/Shift team relies on most is the Muyshondt Maus UV.

Like all of our favorite things, Muyshondt products are over-engineered and built for lifelong use. The Maus UV is their first electric torch specifically designed for horological use, and has become the single favorite tool in our arsenal.

Try one for yourself, and you'll see why.

About Muyshondt

For nearly fifteen years Muyshondt has been creating Electric Torches. Equipped with their line of highly sophisticated Calibre Light Engines and our Lumicron technology, Muyshondt Electric Torches produce beautiful, well-formed beams that mimic sunlight.

Built to extraordinarily high standards, with a bold, classic design aesthetic, their Electric Torches span in size and features from close to long range seamlessly, with a model suited for every task.

They have been a tool for exploration in dark caves, briny seas, dry deserts, and tall mountains. They have been frozen solid in blocks of ice, and sent unprotected to the edge of Space. They have seen service in countless dark corners across the Earth, and found to perform well on any adventure, space-faring or otherwise.
