Sure, we wax poetic about unique complications, purpose-built case design, and iconic stature with frequency. After all, we are privileged to work with some of the most exciting vintage timepieces on the market, and who would blame us for getting all emotional? But sometimes the simplest forms, the most basic designs and the most practical functionality wins us over. Case in point? This stunning bumper-wind Omega Calendar from the mid 1950s.
A notable entry in the diverse Seamaster collection, these elegant timepieces were built to be worn and used, and feature design elements any fan of vintage horology is sure to appreciate. Utilizing the Bumper-Wind Automatic Calibre 355, the Seamaster Calendar features a basic three-hand design with a date function at 6:00. With a simple, soft-edged case design and a classic 3,6,9 Arabic hour marker layout, these early Calendar models embody the best of classic 1950s design.
