Patek Philippe 3514 White Gold

Patek Philippe 3514 White Gold

Icons aren’t just born.

Their designs may begin with a moment of inspiration, but their reputations are built by decades of refinement, attention to detail, and obsession with perfection. They begin with revolution, and are followed by continual evolution; a millimeter here, a half a gram here, a single degree there.

If the Rolex Submariner is the definitive sports watch, then there is no doubt that the Patek Phillipe Calatrava is the definitive dress watch. Launched in 1932 as Patek’s ode to Bauhaus design, it is a study in minimalism, simplicity, and perfect proportions. Everything you need and nothing you don’t wrapped in a stunning package.

Over the years, the Calatrava has evolved, but the look remains unmistakable, and its rich history provides the vintage enthusiast with a variety of choices in metals, sizes, and tiny details to obsess over.

This particular example is an uncommon Reference 3514, and is a delight for new and experienced collectors alike. Dating to the 1960’s, it features a perfectly sized 34mm solid 18K white gold case, a departure from the more commonly seen yellow gold models. Unlike most pieces of this reference, this example offers a traditional case design - most featured an integrated bracelet that limits wearability. Powered by a beautifully decorated Calibre 27-460M automatic movement, this example is the very essence of the iconic Patek Philippe- beautifully proportioned, luxurious, and simple.

In other words- everything you need, nothing you don’t.
