Rolex Datejust 1603 Sword Hands- 1953

Rolex Datejust 1603 Sword Hands- 1953

We've said it over and over again - the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust might just be the perfect watch.  Coupling perfect proportions, simple dial layouts, and robust movements, Rolex's most prolific model is an icon of timekeeping that has been in continuous production for decades.  We're always on the lookout for excellent historical models, and we really scored with this one!

Dating from 1953, this particular example proves our point - there is no need for gimmicks - simple is the way to go.  This Datejust, reference 1603 features a steel case, machine-turned steel bezel, a lovely original dial, and early sword-style hands that knock this one out of the park.

This piece really speaks for itself.  Clean early examples don't turn up all the know what to do!

Steel case is approximately 36mm (excluding the crown).  Rolex Reference 1603.

Overall condition: Stainless Steel Rolex Oyster case is in excellent condition over all. Light wear marks are visible throughout. Original Rolex dial has a lovely patina and hands and hour plots match perfectly. Crystal recently replaced with genuine Rolex 'cyclops' crystal.

Includes one vintage-style leather strap and two 20mm nylon straps from Crown and Buckle.
