This is definitely one of those, "If you're looking at it, then you already know" kind of watches.
The no-date reference 5512 is arguably the single most desirable Submariner on the market, and good, honest examples are becoming a real challenge to source. It takes us months of searching and plenty of passes before we'll ante up, but we've found a really great and honest example with this beauty, a late model 5512 4-Liner, possibly the second greatest thing to come out of 1977 (that's a Star Wars reference, people.)
This particular example features a great case with thick lugs that has not been killed by excessive polishing. The original matte dial shows no noteworthy blemishes, staining or spotting, and the luminescent markers have started down the path of a warm and lovely patination. Paired with its original bezel insert and original caramel pearl, this 5512 makes for a perfect daily wearer and is sure to capture the attention of collectors and aesthetes alike.
Non-date model Submariners continue their rise in popularity, and the 5512 reigns supreme. After all, what do you expect from a watch worn by The King Of Cool himself?
Steel Oyster Case is approximately 39mm (excluding the crown). Rolex Reference 5512.
Overall condition: The case is in very good original condition, retaining thick, crisp lugs with only light signs of prior polishing. No major marks or blemishes of note. The original matte dial is in fantastic original condition, with no spotting or mottling. The luminescent hour markers exhibit light signs of patination from age, and some have begun to change color into a warm caramel hue. The original hands have been refinished to match due to prior degradation. Original bezel insert with superbly patinated pearl dot. Original signed Rolex Trip-Lock crown.
Includes one brown leather strap with contrast stitching and two 20mm Nylon Straps by Crown & Buckle.
